What bike do you ride?

I have a few bikes currently and i don’t grow to attached to any one of them but I’m the guy who buys the bike stock and tweaks it to my style and usage. So I have a few but my current bike that’s getting any use is my Kona Taro 29′er mountain bike. It’s a well crafted dirt carving machine that only a company like Kona can make in what I like to think are small batches just like some of my favorite brews.

How many bikes do you own?

In reality I own way too many since the shop belongs to me and the burden of ownership is mine , but my personal bike list goes like this,(in order of usage)
Kona Taro MTB
Tern Link D8 folding bike
Felt Rail 29″ BMX bike
Giant TCR SL2
Etc, Etc….

How many years have you been working in the cycling industry?

I’ve been in the industry on and off for 20 years and the times I’ve been away I’ve worked for corporate retail companies like (The Body Shop) and other philosophy and service driven companies which is what I think helps me be a better retailer Vs. someone who’s only been in the bike industry.

What is your dream Bike?

My Dream bike unfortunately has a motor it (Ducati Desmosedici) but as bicycles go I would love to have a Moulton Double Pylon folding race bike.

Favorite place to ride.

My favorite place to ride is in a park near my house in NJ called Thompson park,too many magical early morning moments to count. Love it especially in the Fall and Winter heck even in the Spring!

What do you like about working at Zen?

Well to put it bluntly , it’s mine ! I set the tone of the store,the philosophy and put integrity and customer service above all else. Plus my staff is like an extended family with me as Dad and Maria (my wife) as Mom! I work hard to make each customer feel welcome and comfortable.
