2016 Specialized Expedition Sport Low Entry - Women's

As a male age 73 and 6ft 4, this low entry was perfect for me, much safer and easier to mount and dismount. I purchased last year's model with 700cm. tires, liked it so much and then bought the 2013 model which only comes with 26 inch tires, both with 21 speeds (one for our cabin and one for home). I tried the 7 speed Expedition but for $70 more, the sport is clearly the better of the two and fits me better. My tall, cross bar men's bikes are now up for sale. By the way, low entry bikes are used by many men in Europe. Of course, these are also great women's bikes.

Bought this bike to celebrate my 50th birthday. It is a pleasure to ride- comfort bike indeed! I would highly recommend this bike to anyone looking to get back into riding. The upright position of the handlebars eliminates the back pain I was getting from my old bike. The low-entry and great seat also make this bike a pleasure. BOTTOM LINE- I would 100% recommend this bicycle (I love it!)

Having had several previous bikes - single speed, 3-speed, 10 speed Raleigh when they were still made in England, and 21-speed mountain bike (forget the brand) - I learned that if I love a bike on the first ride I will continue loving it throughout ownership. I tried this bike yesterday and fell in love with it due to the ergonomics, overall comfort (except the seat/saddle), and the smooth ride. I'm buying one today! :-D This bike reminds me of the single speed bike that my sisters and I shared in the 50's - how I loved that old, rugged bike. The only thing I dislike is the seat which hurt my butt after only a few minutes (and I'm not large), so I'm swapping it for a wider, more cushiony Electra seat which I love. Funny, the only thing I like about the Electra is the seat, and the only thing I dislike about the Specialized is the seat. Sitting upright is much better for me than leaning forward. It improves comfort, posture, visibilty - of the rider and traffic,and makes pedaling easier. The handles are really comfortable because they're cushiony yet firm, and they have small ledges at the bottoms which support your hand position and prevent slipping. The twist shifting is easy. I already knew this would be a heavy bicycle, but it's worth it for the delicious comfort. Not being an expert cyclist, the bike looks and feels durable based on other bikes I've ridden. A good bike makes you want to ride, and once your start riding you want to keep on going... I love this bike!

I'm 58 years old, and bought this bike for daily exercise, and for cruising some on days off work. I could never get comfortable on a mountain bike, too hunched over on the arms. But this bike reminds me of the bikes of my childhood, the late 50s, in regards to riding posture and comfort. Easy to get on and off as well for us older folks. VERY fairly priced.

I go to UCSD and the campus is pretty ginormous. This bike helps especially if you have to go from one side of the campus to another on a tight schedule. Without this bike, I'm not sure how this would have been possible. I love how comfortable my bike is. After a long class, riding on my bike is my comfort. Because knowing that I won't have to walk with a ton of books, I can just sit on my bike and enjoy the ride home within 5 minutes is a wonderful feeling. In comparison to the other bikes, I am more of a person who would rather go medium speed but be super comfortable. Other bikes might be faster because it is lighter, but it will never get more comfortable than this one. The one criticism I have on this bike is the weight. It's light for a bike like this so I took it as a trade off for being the most comfortable. Riding up the hills in La Jolla can be a bit of a challenge, even when I walked up the hills with my bike I can sometime feel it's weight dragging me down. Or maybe I'm just weak. Other than that I absolutely adore my bike! It's my first bike that I can call my own. As opposed to two other bikes I have had when I was younger that I had to share it with either my brother or my cousins. This was the first bike that was all mine and I love it.
