Specialized's Boy's Hotrock 16 Coaster packs big-time fun into a pint-sized package. This great bike features a lightweight aluminum frame and fork that will withstand the bumps and jumps of neighborhood riding. With a comfortable saddle, wide tires, coaster brake and confidence-boosting training wheels, this bike is a joy to ride and sturdy enough to pass down to a little sibling, too.

This is a fantastic first "real" bike. My 5 yo son spent a long time monkeying around with a heavy 12" bike, getting very frustrated at his inability to transition from gliding to pedaling. I wish that I had just started him on a lightweight glider and moved right to this bike. The design is perfect for a beginner- light enough that they can mange the bike when climbing on and off, and gearing that is easy to pedal. Kiddo went from barely gliding to figure eights on the basketball court and climbing small hills in two days. This bike rocks!

This is a GREAT first bike for kids. This bike comes with training wheels that easily go off/on. Our son picked up riding a bike very quickly, he is 4, and he completely wore a hole in the tire of the original 12 inch bike we had purchased. We were looking for a high-quality bike he could grow with that wasn't heavy. Specialized hit the nail on the head. We purchased the 16 inch bike (added the kick stand) and he was immediately zooming and having a blast on it. It has been 6 months and our son still LOVES this bike and rides everyday. It has held up well to the "rough" play of a 4 year old (the kick stand helped alot so he wouldn't drop it on the ground) and it was well worth the money.

This was our son's second bike - we replaced the 12 inch $50 walmart huffy bike with this one after when he turned 4 and have been very satisfied. I would say that the age sweet spot is 4-6 years old. It's taken several crashes, and although it's a litle banged up, it still rides like a champ. We are now gonig to pass it to his younger brother.

We bought this bike for our son who was 4.5! It completely changed the way we rode bikes as a family because the bike weighed so much less than the off-brand bikes that he could "get going" again on the hills and wasn't exhausted trying to ride a bike that weighed more than he did! We were able to upgrade to the next size and definately got our money's worth!
