Smoother is faster when it comes to the Roubaix SL4 Expert. With the engineered compliance and responsiveness of its SL4 FACT 10r carbon frame and fork, along with the legendary performance of the mechanical Shimano Ultegra build kit, it's a bike that will ensure you stay fresher, longer—no matter how long your ride may be.
•Specialized's high-modulus SL4 FACT 10r carbon frame with tapered head tube and compact race design provides incredible responsiveness, while the engineered compliance and Zertz inserts smooth out vibrations and road chatter.
•The Specialized FACT carbon fork comes in three different sizes with varying steerer diameters that optimize stiffness for that size, while also providing excellent steering response. Road chatter is also absorbed through the Zertz elastomer inserts.
•The incredibly smooth-running Fulcrum Racing S-19 Light wheels transfer all your power to the road. They're built with butted spokes to be tough enough to handle even the roughest roads and still come back for more.

I searched diligently for a new bike after deciding to get back into cycling after many years off. I read articles, test road models, talked to riders and shop owners and was consistently pointed toward the Roubaix. I ended up getting a 54cm SL4 Expert in the satin carbon / blue and could not be happier. It is unreal how much bikes have changed. My local LBS made the choice easy and set me up perfectly. The one drawback is the saddle comes standard in 143mm. I need a 155mm saddle and wish you could trade out for the correct size. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the bike and the components it came with. The money was well spent!

I got this bike in January 2014 to update my '09 Roubaix with a triple ring. It has a stiffer bottom bracket, lighter, easier Shimano Ultegra compact gearing -- much better when pounding uphill on fast club rides. I have 1000 miles on it. No complaints. My advice: Ask for a discount or trade up the wheels. The Fulcrum wheels that came with mine were cheaply made AND had defective welds.

Happy about the bike on the road but carbon finish can be better. The bike color satin carbon.

Was deciding between Synapse Hi-mod and Roubaix. Rode both. Synapse was 95% great, but 5% felt cramped and just a little uncomfortable throughout the ride. Roubaix was perfect from first ride. Got the 2014 SL4 Expert with full Ultegra components. I picked up almost 3 mph on flats and I actually can accelerate up hills rather than slogging on my old LeMond (which I love, by the way). I'm a 49 yr old average skill fitness rider, so to get a bike that actually improves my less than stellar ability was a big "win". I have never written a product review in my life, but can't say enough awesome things about my new Roubaix. It's fun to ride, and I can't stop telling everyone about it. Oh, and it's beautiful too (black carbon with blue striping).

I pre-ordered this bike in July and have been riding it for a month now. I am running Zipp 101's and absolutely love the ride. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone who is serious about riding.

I'm 71, 5'11"and 240 lbs. I ride 30 to 40 miles every other day year round in Colorado and Arizona. I had a 2000 LeMond triple crank that doesn't even come close to competing with this bike on comfort or easy of handling. The SL4 is a fantastic bike for me at my age and shape which isn't a bikers physique!
Comments:
I bought one of these because they seem really popular and get good reviews. After a few months of riding i tried a friends bike and was amazed at the feeling of 'life' that i got from the bike (which was £400 cheaper) After trying that i borrowed and tested a lot of bikes, some were bad, some were outstanding. The main thing i got out of it was the Spesh just felt bland and dull. It didn't excite me, i felt embarressed to be seen on it. It didn't make me proud of it like the premier marques, i felt no love. Value for money is pretty poor too, my zertz insert on the fork fell off, so i'm off to buy something that has just been designed well, rather than having rubber marketing gimmicks.
