Trips to the store, short afternoon spins and commutes to work, Specialized's Expedition does it all. You'll love its upright, easy-on-the-back riding position, the lightweight aluminum frame and the plush suspension fork that smooths out all the bumps for maximum comfort and control. To keep you rolling, the Expedition's aluminum rims spin free and easy, while the 7-speed Shimano drivetrain provides simple, low-maintenance operation. Other fine touches include a riser handlebar, flat-resistant tires and a luxuriously comfortable Specialized saddle.

We purchased these bikes yesterday. One for me and my wife in order to start riding again and get back into health. We're both 57 and wanted a comfortable, easy to ride bike and this fit the bill. It has a very comfortable seat, you ride in an upright position and the suspension fork makes for an easy control and comfortable ride. The Shimano shifter (7-speeds) was plenty and delivered the performance you would expect from that brand. It had great braking even for a big guy like myself. This bike should provide us years of great experiences to come. We were not disappointed.

When I was in my younger 20's (mid 1990's) I was not as fat, single, and enjoyed riding my diamond back mountain bike with my best friends in the trails at [...] Park in [...]. Now, I'm in my late thirties and am over 300 lbs, thus the need for a sturdy bike to get exercise. THIS SPECIALIZED EXPEDITION (XL frame) is like a sports car compared to others I've owned. If you're a cheapskate like me, ($400 is the most I've ever paid for bicycle,) save your money and get this one. Don't waste time with any "marts" and go get this one! (I learned that the hard way.) You won't be disapointed.

I traded in a Specialized mountain bike after several years of use. I'm getting older and was looking for comfort but with the reliability of a Specialized. Personal advice: Whatever bike you decide on, spend the extra money and buy from a local, reputable bicycle shop. Big-box discount stores don't sell bikes, they sell riding disappointment-- and no service after the sale.
