2016 Specialized AWOL Elite
Specialized's AWOL Elite has everything you need to get out and explore. This tough-as-nails adventure bike features a chromoly frame and fork for durability and exceptional ride quality. Equipped with both front and rear rack eyelets, three sets of bottle cage bosses, and full-length cable housing routing, the AWOL Elite does double duty as a fully loaded touring rig and a heavy duty commuter. Sturdy Specialized wheels with grippy 42mm-wide tires make the bike all-terrain capable, and a pair of Tektro Spyre disc brakes provide great stopping power, no matter the conditions. Touring must-haves like a burly Tubus front and rear racks and sturdy aluminum fenders are a part of the deal. A wide-range, 20-speed Shimano Tiagra has the gears you need to conquer any hill, while a selection of Body Geometry components keep you comfortable for miles.

I have done a couple of long distance trips with panniers and bags. Five in total. Bike handles so good without an incident. I had a nail go through the tyre came out the other side. Pull the nail out and kept on going. No puncture. I get compliments all the time about the bike.
